RosterElf and LoggerIQ, side by side

RosterElf is built for the same small Australian shift teams we are. Its prices are close to ours. The differences are in the detail, so here it is, sourced.

In plain words

The honest read

Where RosterElf is ahead, where LoggerIQ is and why.

RosterElf is cheaper than LoggerIQ on annual billing, has native iOS and Android apps, includes award interpretation and leave in Core and keeps data in Australia. It does not charge for terminated or inactive staff, which is a fair rule. On those points the two products are close. On price RosterElf is ahead for a team that pays yearly.

The gaps are elsewhere. Onboarding, documents and e-signed contracts sit in Full Suite or the HR plan, not Core. Monthly plans bill at least 3 staff and annual plans at least 10 seats. There is no free admin seat. Annual plans are not refundable.

On awards, RosterElf includes interpretation in Core; LoggerIQ interprets 11 modern awards and shows the clause behind each pay line. Neither product runs payroll: both send hours to Xero. RosterElf also syncs to MYOB.

Worked example

What 25 people cost a month

Full Suite is the RosterElf plan with onboarding, documents and e-signature, the closest match to LoggerIQ. Annual billing is non-refundable.

Who takes a paid seat at LoggerIQ and who does not:

  • Workers: billed. Anyone who clocks in, takes a shift or submits a request is a seat.
  • Kiosk-only workers: billed. Someone who only ever clocks in at a shared kiosk still counts, because their hours are kept and paid like everyone else's.
  • Managers and admins: billed. People who run rosters and approve hours are seats too.
  • Pending invites: free. Someone you have invited or imported costs nothing until they accept and join.
  • Leavers: free. When someone leaves, their seat stops. Their records stay, at no charge, for as long as the law asks you to keep them.
  • Auditors: free. Read-only access with an end date for your auditor costs nothing.
