In plain words

The honest read

Where Employment Hero is ahead, where LoggerIQ is and why.

Employment Hero is broader on HR and payroll. Its Payroll plan runs unlimited pay runs with award interpretation, it offers an HR advisory service, learning and an employee assistance programme. Its Employment Hero Work app is in the stores. LoggerIQ does not run Australian payroll yet and has no HR advisory service.

For a roster-led team the shape of the bill matters. Rostering, time clocks and timesheets are an add-on with a monthly minimum, every HR and payroll plan has a 10-user minimum. People still pending count as billable at month end. A minimum term can be agreed and the plan cannot be downgraded during it.

The two also work together: LoggerIQ writes approved hours as an Employment Hero timesheet import file, so a business can roster and approve hours in LoggerIQ and keep Employment Hero for payroll.

Worked example

What 25 people cost a month

HR Essentials plus the rostering add-on is the closest match to what LoggerIQ includes. Payroll is left out on both sides; Employment Hero's Payroll plan would add to this.

Who takes a paid seat at LoggerIQ and who does not:

  • Workers: billed. Anyone who clocks in, takes a shift or submits a request is a seat.
  • Kiosk-only workers: billed. Someone who only ever clocks in at a shared kiosk still counts, because their hours are kept and paid like everyone else's.
  • Managers and admins: billed. People who run rosters and approve hours are seats too.
  • Pending invites: free. Someone you have invited or imported costs nothing until they accept and join.
  • Leavers: free. When someone leaves, their seat stops. Their records stay, at no charge, for as long as the law asks you to keep them.
  • Auditors: free. Read-only access with an end date for your auditor costs nothing.
